Assistant Controller

About the role

Roofstock is looking for a hands‑on Assistant Controller to lead corporate accounting, ERP strategy, and financial reporting. You will play a key part in transitioning the finance function to an AI‑first model, automating journal entries and reconciliations to accelerate month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process, overseeing journal entry management, balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Champion AI‑driven automation for journal entries, reconciliations and variance reporting.
• Manage complex technical accounting areas, including ASC 718 stock‑based compensation, ASC 842 lease accounting, ASC 350‑40 capitalized software costs, and ASC 805 purchase accounting.
• Direct the monthly consolidation of multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations and GAAP compliance.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including cash‑flow statements, and turn variance analysis into actionable insights.
• Design and implement an ERP strategy to optimize the company’s financial platforms.
• Lead the annual financial statement audit and coordinate with external auditors.

Required profile
