Assistant Clinical Professor & MLS Program Coordinator

About the role

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a non‑tenure‑track Assistant Clinical Professor who will also serve as Program Coordinator for the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program, beginning Spring 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate MLS lecture and laboratory courses in areas such as microbiology, hematology, immunohematology, and immunology/serology.
• Oversee accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with NAACLS standards.
• Coordinate clinical education sites, develop and maintain affiliations with regional healthcare institutions.
• Lead curriculum development, program assessment, student recruitment, advising, and mentoring.
• Participate in college, university, and professional service activities and committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., science, Medical Laboratory Science, or business administration).
• Current national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS(ASCP)CM).
• At least three years of MLS experience with demonstrated leadership and ability to meet NAACLS qualifications for program directors.
• Demonstrated capacity to teach core MLS courses and mentor students.
