Assistant CFO / Financial Controller – Miami Beach

About the role

We are partnering with a confidential family office in Miami Beach that manages a diversified portfolio of real estate, hospitality, and investment entities. The Assistant CFO/Financial Controller will work closely with ownership and the CFO to oversee accounting across a multi‑entity structure, offering high visibility and a clear path to the CFO role within roughly one year.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations for 50+ entities, including real estate assets and operating businesses.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and reporting packages.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
• Oversee property‑level accounting, lease accounting, and CAM reconciliations.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow, and variances across entities.
• Partner with ownership and leadership to provide financial insights for decision‑making.
• Drive structure, organization, and process improvements within the accounting function.
• Supervise and support accounting staff.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Strong real‑estate/property accounting background.
• Experience in multi‑entity or family‑office environments preferred.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidations.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and full‑cycle accounting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or NetSuite.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting.
