About the role

The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) supports the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM) in running a high‑volume bakery. This pipeline role blends hands‑on operational execution with talent development, preparing you to lead a bakery independently.

Key responsibilities

• Execute core bakery operations: inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative checklists.
• Maintain product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards.
• Support ordering, inventory accuracy, and shrink control.
• Assist in schedule creation and labor execution to meet operational targets.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members; provide coaching and real‑time performance feedback.
• Hold team members accountable while fostering a growth‑mindset culture.
• Manage bakery operations independently when the BOM is absent and ensure continuity during staffing shortages.
• Partner with BOM and area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement solutions.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
• Capability to perform all bakery roles during peak periods.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
