Assistant Attorney General – State Licensing Board

About the role

The Office of the Attorney General seeks an Assistant Attorney General to join the State Licensing Boards Section within the Regulated Industries and Professions Division. This position provides high‑quality legal representation to licensing boards, supports administrative hearings, and defends civil actions on behalf of the State of Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Litigate cases in administrative, state, and federal courts, including motions, appeals, and settlement negotiations.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and conduct legal research on relevant issues.
• Provide legal advice to licensing boards, draft memoranda, and issue formal opinions.
• Attend board, departmental, and division meetings; represent boards at hearings and appeals.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legal developments affecting regulated professions.
• Travel as required and fulfill other duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of the Georgia Bar.
• 3–5 years of experience in administrative law or civil litigation.
