About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Attorney General to join the Office of the Attorney General’s Department of Law. This position focuses on real estate, construction, and state authority matters, providing high‑quality legal representation to state agencies, officials, and the Governor.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on real estate and construction law issues for state entities.
- Negotiate and draft complex agreements for acquisition, disposition, construction, development, and management of state properties.
- Advise on federal contract administration best practices.
- Oversee Special Assistant Attorneys General on public works projects, including condemnation actions.
- Litigate cases in state and federal courts, including hearings, motions, appeals, and settlement negotiations.
- Research legal issues, prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
- Conduct depositions, interview witnesses, and retain expert witnesses as needed.
Required profile
- Licensed attorney qualified to practice law.
