Assistant Attorney General - Ethics and Elections

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Office of the Attorney General is seeking an Assistant Attorney General to support the Ethics and Elections division. This full‑time position provides high‑quality legal representation to state agencies, including the Secretary of State, Ethics Commission, and State Election Board.

Key responsibilities

• Manage litigation at all stages in state and federal courts, including drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and handling discovery and depositions.
• Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in election law, ethics, and campaign finance.
• Prepare and respond to e‑discovery requests.
• Provide legal advice and representation to client agencies and, when needed, deliver training material.
• Attend required continuing legal education seminars and undertake limited travel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of the Georgia Bar.
• General litigation experience preferred.

• E‑discovery handling.
