Armed Security Officer (Part‑Time)

About the role

The University of Tulsa is looking for a part‑time Armed Security Officer to patrol campus facilities, protect life and property, and respond to emergencies. The role involves regular radio contact with the Communication Center, enforcement of university safety regulations, and occasional work at multiple sites such as the main campus, Oxley Health Sciences Facility, and Gilcrease Museum.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned university areas, secure buildings, and report unusual situations to supervisors.
• Maintain regular radio contact with the Communication Center and request police or fire assistance when needed.
• Investigate incidents, complete incident reports, and testify in campus conduct hearings or court proceedings.
• Provide emergency first aid, assist with transportation of injured persons, and respond to building alarms.
• Enforce safety, parking, and traffic regulations, issuing university citations as required.
• Conduct crowd and traffic control during scheduled activities and emergencies.
• Assist stranded motorists with jump‑starts, tire changes, and vehicle pushes.
• Monitor museum CCTV, verify gallery inventories, and help with opening and closing the Gilcrease Museum.

Required profile

• At least 21 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and ability to meet firearms qualification and physical‑fitness standards.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment medical exam, vision screening, and 10‑panel drug test.
• Eligibility for CLEET Phase 1‑4 certification within six months of appointment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle confidential information discreetly.
