Armed Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer in Honolulu, Hawaii. The officer serves and safeguards clients across industries such as commercial real estate, healthcare, education and government. The rate of pay is $36 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem-solving
• Carry out regular and random patrols of the business and its perimeter
• Work in environments and conditions that vary by client site

Required profile

• At least 21 years old; high school diploma, GED or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Valid Hawaii driver's license or license recognized in Hawaii
• Meets Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 463 security guard licensing requirements and completes a fingerprint-based background investigation
• Qualifying experience: 2 years of honorable U.S. Armed Forces service or 1 year of full-duty law enforcement experience with good standing
• Legally eligible to possess, carry, transport and handle firearms, with a current license, permit, written authorization, certification and qualification
• Able to complete the pre-employment ASG medical and physical exam and cleared for an N95 respirator
• Physically capable of prolonged standing, emergency response, use of screening equipment, CCTV, handcuffs, baton and firearm, and intervention with violent or disturbed persons

Required skills

• Effective verbal and written communication in English
• Basic computer, clerical, recordkeeping and typing skills
• Access-control system skills
• Ability to deal effectively with the public, judiciary staff, law enforcement and security personnel
