Armed Security Guard - Part Time

About the role

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer in Greenville, SC, to support an aerospace and defense location. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, carries out access-control activities, maintains a visible presence to deter incidents and provides customer service. The schedule is day time, Thursday to Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and the pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements and security protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entry points and perimeter areas to spot and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, following emergency response procedures and notifying the right people.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and keep accurate logs and incident records.
• Carry authorized equipment in line with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws and site requirements.

Required profile

• Armed guard card or license, and at least three years of security, law enforcement, military police or military experience.
• Valid driver's license; a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment; licensing may be required before work depending on state and local law.

Required skills

• Preferred: customer service experience, access control and badge experience.
• Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
