Area Installation Specialist

About the role

The Home Depot Area Installation Specialist (AIS) supports the customer experience throughout the installation life cycle. The role covers technical measures, assessment of pre-existing conditions, product affirmations and Job Site Inspections (JSIs) to check quality of work and service provider credentials. It also involves resolving customer complaints, preventing delays and approving or escalating project changes before they proceed.

Key responsibilities

• Customer experience (about 25%): keep regular contact with customers, follow up on time, resolve open questions and job changes, manage open services and assigned care tickets, and escalate decisions as needed.
• Job process management (about 60%): assess pre-existing conditions, perform product affirmations and technical measures, run JSIs including badge checks and inspections against construction standards, document scope changes, and close open services on time.
• Operations (about 15%): help manage customer inquiries, resolve jobs on hold, initiate scope-change requests, and use reporting systems to keep the install accurate.
• Reports to the District Installation Manager, with no direct reports; typically requires less than 10% overnight travel.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: construction/home improvement experience and experience managing residential install projects.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5 years of work experience preferred.
• Physical demands include intermittent periods of walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting material or equipment, sometimes heavy or awkward; occasional exposure to dust, fumes or odors.

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $22.00 - $26.00.
