Architect III – Technical Leader

About the role

BHDP is seeking an Architect III to lead technical delivery across multiple projects in Cincinnati. The role blends strong coordination, clear documentation, and mentorship to translate design intent into constructible solutions. You will drive quality, manage risk, and support teams to meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery across several projects, ensuring consistent quality, coordination, and readiness for milestones while preserving design intent and code/life‑safety strategy.
• Identify and resolve complex coordination, constructability, and code issues early, providing creative options tied to project constraints.
• Conduct active QA/QC, document cross‑discipline coordination, and drive issues to verified closure.
• Break projects into clear work assignments, monitor progress, and ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Coach team members through redlines, feedback, and brief check‑ins to improve cycle time and independence.
• Maintain a rolling look‑ahead, prioritize tasks, and keep deliverables milestone‑ready.
• Escalate high‑risk items, document decisions, and convert lessons learned into reusable improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent professional degree.
• Proven experience leading technical coordination on multiple architecture projects.
• Strong understanding of code and life‑safety requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with consultants and internal teams.
• Track record of delivering high‑quality construction documents on schedule.
