About the role

Bloom Companies is seeking a motivated junior‑level Designer to join its growing architectural department in Chicago. You will work within a collaborative, mentor‑driven environment, contributing to a variety of projects while developing your skills toward becoming a Registered Architect.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to design, production, and coordination of deliverables across all project phases.
• Integrate engineering components and consultant work into unified design documents.
• Research materials, select products, and develop finish presentations and specifications.
• Conduct building code and zoning ordinance research.
• Communicate effectively with the Director of Architecture, project managers, and internal/external team members.
• Participate in office initiatives, professional development, and culture‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 1‑5 years of relevant experience in sectors such as education, commercial, municipal, or transportation.
• Self‑starter with strong work ethic, time‑management, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Demonstrated interest in becoming a Registered Architect and in sustainable design practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Competence in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use Sketch‑Up and other modeling/rendering software.
