Applied Scientist – High‑Performance PCB Design

About the role

Quilter is building the next generation of automated printed circuit board (PCB) design tools. As an Applied Scientist you will create high‑performance C++ algorithms and data structures that solve challenging problems in computational geometry, optimization, and physics simulation.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑performance C++ libraries for routing, optimization, and simulation.
• Design scalable data structures and computational methods for complex PCB design challenges.
• Collaborate with domain experts across electrical engineering, ML/AI, and HPC teams.
• Mentor peers, conduct technical reviews, and help shape the engineering roadmap.

Required profile

• 3‑10+ years of industry experience with large, high‑performance C++ codebases.
• Strong academic background in computational geometry, graph algorithms, optimization, HPC, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python for prototyping and ML integration.
• Leadership skills in mentoring and guiding engineering direction.
