Application Engineer

About the role

Seco Tools is looking for a hands‑on Application Engineer to join our Charlotte, NC team. You will act as the technical bridge between customers and our internal groups, delivering advanced tooling solutions that boost productivity, improve tool life, and enhance part quality across a range of machining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and implementation of tooling applications for turning, milling, drilling, and threading.
• Design and refine machining strategies to increase productivity and part quality.
• Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to provide field‑based feedback on tool design, coatings, and materials.
• Use CAM software and simulation tools to verify and optimize tool paths.
• Partner with sales teams to deliver technical support, presales consultations, and tooling recommendations.
• Conduct on‑site visits, diagnose machining challenges, and implement tailored solutions.
• Lead or support customer trials, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Develop custom tooling concepts in collaboration with design engineering and prepare detailed application reports.

Required profile

• Strong background in machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and threading.
• Proven ability to work closely with customers and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel for on‑site customer engagements.
