Application Engineer

About the role

Seco Tools, a global leader in machining solutions, is looking for a hands‑on Application Engineer to join its Charlotte, NC team. You will act as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams, delivering advanced tooling solutions that boost productivity and part quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimisation of tooling applications for turning, milling, drilling and threading.
• Design machining strategies that improve tool life, productivity and part quality.
• Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to provide field‑based feedback on tool design, coatings and materials.
• Use CAM software and simulation tools to verify and optimise tool paths.
• Partner with sales teams to deliver technical support, presales consultations and tooling recommendations.
• Conduct on‑site visits, diagnose machining challenges and implement solutions.
• Develop or modify custom tools in collaboration with Design Engineering and produce detailed application reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in machining environments with a strong understanding of turning, milling, drilling and threading processes.
• Ability to work closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach to technical challenges.
