Application Engineer – Collision Repair Trainer

About the role

The Application Engineer will provide technical expertise and training for 3M’s automotive aftermarket collision repair portfolio. This role focuses on vehicle structural repair, metal finishing, dent repair and related processes, delivering hands‑on demonstrations at the Skills Development Center and other customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Showcase 3M products, processes and digital solutions to increase profitability for body‑shop customers.
• Manage relationships with large end‑user and distributor partners.
• Conduct hands‑on product demonstrations and training sessions for internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with product development, channel partners and business teams to create practical solutions.
• Develop and deliver technical collateral, training content, and presentations.
• Support sales professionals and end‑users with new product setups, field testing, and benchmarking.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or higher from an accredited institution (or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience).
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the collision repair industry.
• Knowledge of repair materials and processes used in automotive, heavy‑duty truck, marine, and general industrial settings.
