Application Developer

About the role

Consertus is seeking a proactive, security‑focused Application Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance Python applications on Google Cloud Platform. You will work with AI‑assisted tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery and ensure code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support resilient Python microservices using Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions and event‑driven services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks and Eventarc.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs with FastAPI and gRPC, implementing robust authentication, versioning and performance tuning.
• Build Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and manage CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Deploy and GitHub Actions.
• Implement monitoring, logging and tracing with Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging and Cloud Trace, and ensure security compliance with IAM, Secret Manager and Cloud KMS.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to generate tests, documentation and OpenAPI specs, reviewing AI output for quality and security.

Required profile

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with professional fluency.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications.
• Experience deploying containerized workloads on GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions).

Required skills

• Python 3.10+ and FastAPI.
• Asynchronous programming, OOP design, API development.
• Google Cloud services: Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Cloud Storage.
• Terraform for IaC.
• CI/CD tools: Cloud Build, GitHub Actions.
• Testing frameworks: pytest, unittest.
• Security tools: Bandit, Semgrep, Snyk, SonarQube.
• AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot.
