Appian Integration Developer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for an Appian Integration Developer to support a large federal government healthcare modernization project. The role is 100% remote within the continental United States and involves building and maintaining integrations between the Appian BPM platform and Department of Veterans Affairs systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project lead to define integration architecture, technical specifications, and interface requirements.
• Design and develop system and data integrations between VA source systems and the Appian platform.
• Implement secure connections using REST, SOAP, JDBC, SMTP, CMIS, JMS, and other web API technologies.
• Integrate Appian solutions with microservices, databases, legacy systems, and file‑transfer processes.
• Develop and maintain Appian plug‑ins, middleware components, and web services deployed in AWS GovCloud.
• Create and update Integration Control Documents, interface specifications, architecture and integration diagrams.
• Support the team with additional tasks to ensure project success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, MIS or a related technical field.
• Minimum two years of relevant IT experience.
• At least two years of experience delivering Appian applications, plug‑in development, BPM, or enterprise integration.
• Proven experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP web services and APIs.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, SQL and application servers such as JBoss, WebLogic, IIS or Tomcat.
