APP Team Manager - Medicine, Gastroenterology

About the role

The APP Team Manager serves as a clinical leader responsible for overseeing the advanced practice provider (APP) team delivering gastroenterology care. This role plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates patient care outcomes while partnering with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and manage the clinical practice, quality, and safety of APPs within the gastroenterology service.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with licensed providers, population managers, and care managers.
• Participate in hiring, supervision, and performance evaluations of team members.
• Identify and initiate interdisciplinary collaborations to meet team and patient objectives.
• Advance practice through research, publications, and participation in professional meetings.
• Represent the department on hospital, system‑level committees and task forces.
• Analyze and present team‑based care results to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Foster effective relationships with nurses, advanced practice providers, and other clinical departments.

Required profile

• Proven clinical leadership experience in a gastroenterology or related medical setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop advanced practice teams.
• Strong collaboration skills with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and administrative leaders.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence‑based practice.
• Experience presenting data and outcomes to senior organizational leaders.
