Antepartum Nurse Intern - Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring a full-time night-shift nurse intern for its antepartum unit. The position requires mother and baby experience and is open to nurses working in a critical care setting. The pay range is $31.85 to $52.76.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate organizational commitment, respect for colleagues and teamwork in managing patient flow, following hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer.
• Use the AIDET technique (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) during hourly rounding to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporate caring model behaviours and culturally competent care, and adhere to dress and professional appearance standards.
• Take part in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Collect comprehensive patient and unit data for process improvement.
• Perform initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults when needed and identify teaching and discharge planning needs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate of a school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area (preferred).
• Ability to work in a critical care area as defined by the unit (required).

Required skills

• BLS/CPR certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• NRP and NRP-A certifications (preferred)
• PALS certification (preferred)
• NIHSS (preferred)
