Anesthesia Technician – Perioperative Support (Full-time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Anesthesia Technician to support perioperative services. The technician will work closely with anesthesiologists, preparing equipment, medications, and ensuring the anesthesia workroom is ready for each case.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, test, and maintain anesthesia delivery systems and patient monitoring devices before, during, and after procedures.
• Clean, organize, and restock the anesthesia workroom, including supplies, medications, and reusable equipment.
• Wash, sterilize, and inspect reusable anesthesia equipment, reporting any malfunction to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with patient transport and handling of laboratory specimens.
• Document preventive maintenance, quality records, and compliance with safety, infection‑control, and environmental standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and in‑service education.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant health‑technical field.
• Minimum two years of experience as an anesthesia technician or in a comparable perioperative role.
• Applicable certification as required by the department (refer to department description).
• Ability to follow university and unit policies, safeguard assets, and maintain high standards of patient safety.

Required skills

• Operation and troubleshooting of anesthesia delivery systems.
• Use of patient monitoring equipment.
• Equipment sterilization and maintenance procedures.
