Anesthesia Technician 2 – Full‑Time Position

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Technician 2 to support its anesthesia department. This full‑time role ensures that anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medication are prepared, maintained, and available for safe patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Manages anesthesia medications according to facility needs.
• Organizes and maintains the anesthesia workroom.
• Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after procedures, considering age‑specific requirements.
• Performs basic troubleshooting of monitors and equipment and reports defects.
• Upholds quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
• Documents preventative maintenance and preserves quality records.
• Assists with transport of patients and laboratory specimens between facilities.
• Builds effective working relationships with anesthesia staff, nurse circulators, and other technical personnel.
• Adheres to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in anesthesia equipment support.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and technical proficiency.
