Anesthesia Manager – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an experienced manager to lead the Anesthesia Technology Department. Reporting to an anesthesia care provider, you will ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery of anesthesia services across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the anesthesia technology department, including airway management, ventilation, and blood component handling.
• Develop and maintain 24‑hour staff schedules to guarantee continuous coverage.
• Manage department budgets, monitor performance against goals, and drive cost‑effective practices.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing education for all staff, validating competencies annually.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and the anesthesia environment, performing quality control on anesthesia machines and troubleshooting device alarms.
• Collaborate with UHealth medical staff, directors, and peri‑operative leaders to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Establish internal controls, ensure compliance with university policies, and train employees on procedural standards.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Certification in a relevant specialty.
• Minimum three years of experience in anesthesia technology or related clinical management.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles.
