Analytics Engineer Intern

About the role

Benzinga is looking for an Analytics Engineer Intern to join its Data Science team for a 12‑week, part‑time, remote internship. The role focuses on data modeling, dashboard creation, and turning raw data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Write SQL that transforms raw data into structured datasets for use in dashboards.
• Support existing reporting and develop new reporting and dashboard work.
• Design and build a deliverable project: SQL data models, a Looker Studio dashboard, validation with a stakeholder, and presentation of findings.
• Conduct data quality checks and troubleshoot common data issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure dashboards answer the true business question.
• Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate work while fully understanding and verifying all code.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Basic SQL proficiency (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, simple aggregations).
• Basic familiarity with version‑control concepts such as Git.
