AmeriCorps Student Support Coach (Part‑Time)

About the role

The AmeriCorps Student Support Coach works on elementary, middle and high school campuses in South Carolina, providing one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring and wrap‑around support to help students and families overcome barriers to educational success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly tutoring sessions (1:1 or small groups) and document services provided.
• Meet the 900‑hour service requirement over an 11‑month term, averaging about 20 hours per week.
• Collaborate with the School Site Coordinator, teachers, staff and families to create a student‑centered support network.
• Participate in school‑wide initiatives, summer enrichment activities and special service events.

Required profile

• Passion for working with K‑12 students and commitment to educational equity.
• Ability to build appropriate, confidential relationships with diverse students, families and staff.
• Proactive, professional attitude with strong communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency or national status and meet AmeriCorps eligibility criteria.

Required skills

• Comfort using technology for documentation and data entry (e.g., Microsoft Teams, CISDM system).
• Basic computer literacy and ability to handle standard office equipment.
