Aircraft Loads Engineer, Flight Sciences

About the role

The Aircraft Loads Engineer will develop external aircraft loads for fixed‑wing and VTOL electric aircraft, supporting structural sizing and certification efforts within a collaborative, sustainability‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of external load cases (maneuver, gust, ground) using 6DOF models.
• Define load cases that meet certification requirements for both fixed‑wing and VTOL platforms.
• Create mass and stiffness representative FEM models and generate external loads.
• Assist in developing and executing component‑level and flight‑level load tests.
• Collaborate with Flight Science, Structures, Motors, Flight Controls, and Certification teams to ensure accurate load definitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in aircraft loads analysis and testing, including steady‑state, abrupt maneuvers, gust response, and landing loads.
• Strong communication skills and ability to identify and implement new analysis processes.

Required skills

• NASTRAN and FEMAP for loads analysis.
• MATLAB and Python programming.
• CAD tools such as CATIA and SolidWorks.
• Aerodynamic analysis methods (panel methods, CFD).
