Aircraft Dynamics Engineer

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking an Aircraft Dynamics Engineer to lead aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analysis and testing for its electric fixed‑wing and VTOL aircraft. The role works closely with Flight Sciences, Structures, and Certification teams to integrate dynamic analysis into the aircraft design loop.

Key responsibilities

• Lead aeroelastic analyses including flutter, whirl flutter, control reversal, and divergence.
• Develop mass and stiffness FEM models to support dynamic analysis of vertical flight loads.
• Conduct aeroservoelastic analysis of fly‑by‑wire flight‑control systems.
• Define and execute component and vehicle‑level modal and structural coupling tests.
• Use test results to update structural FEMs and refine requirements for structures and flight‑control systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in aircraft dynamic analysis and testing.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency with dynamics analysis software such as NASTRAN and FEMAP.
• Experience with aerodynamic analysis methods (panel methods, CFD).
• Programming in MATLAB and Python.
• CAD tools experience (CATIA, SolidWorks).
