Aircraft Development Engineer – Advanced Concepts

About the role

Join BETA Technologies as an Aircraft Development Engineer on the Advanced Systems team, driving the development workflow for new electric aircraft concepts. You will coordinate multidisciplinary trades, manage technical risks, and provide engineering evidence to support program decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive integrated workflow for aircraft concept development and technical review.
• Coordinate aircraft-level trades across configuration, propulsion, systems, structures, manufacturing, operations, and test.
• Maintain trade packages, decision records, and technical‑review materials.
• Track major assumptions, risks, interfaces, dependencies, and actions.
• Identify cross‑functional issues early and coordinate closure with responsible teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in aircraft, aerospace, or complex product development.
• Experience integrating multiple engineering disciplines on a hardware product.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a US Person.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of aircraft configuration, systems, structures, propulsion integration, manufacturing, or test.
• Experience preparing and presenting trade studies and technical reviews.
• Proficiency with CAD, 3DX, Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), analysis, and program‑management tools.
