AI/ML Tech Platform Manager

About the role

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of the global food retailer Ahold Delhaize, is hiring an AI/ML Tech Platform Manager. The role owns a major platform area, prioritizing capabilities, standards and integrations to improve reliability, developer experience and cost-effective scale. The position is based in Quincy, MA, with a flexible hybrid schedule of 3 in-person days and 2 remote days at one of the core locations (Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL or Quincy, MA). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the vision and roadmap for assigned platform domains, defining the purpose and scope of platform capabilities and investments.
• Gather customer feedback, usage signals and operational insights, then turn stakeholder needs into platform requirements, service definitions and acceptance criteria with engineering managers and architects.
• Prioritize and deliver capabilities while managing tradeoffs, dependencies and change impacts across teams and integrations.
• Identify innovation and continuous improvement opportunities, balancing reliability, cost and developer experience.
• Monitor lifecycle health (reliability, performance, security) and guide improvements that reduce operational risk and technical debt.
• Enforce platform guidelines and policies and collaborate with other platform owners on governance and change management.
• Take part in agile ceremonies, give sign-off on platform components and partner with product teams to measure value through KPIs and outcomes.
• Communicate platform events such as outages and releases to consumers and partners, and report progress, risks and decisions to leadership.
• Be available during urgent IT incidents and support critical escalations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience.
• 8+ years in platform, product or technical leadership roles.
• 6+ years working in the AI/ML space.
• 5+ years of experience with Azure and 5+ years with Databricks.
• Strong grasp of lifecycle management, integration patterns and operational excellence.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with API governance, identity/access or observability tooling.
• Experience supporting platform governance and change management across multiple engineering teams.

Salary range: $136,160 to $204,240, depending on qualifications, experience, internal equity and market conditions.
