AI/ML Software Engineer

About the role

Frontier Technology Inc. is looking for a hands‑on AI/ML Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable software and data systems that support mission‑critical operations, analytics, and simulation environments for DoD and Intelligence Community customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs, data pipelines, and simulation runtime logic using Java, Python, C++, or TypeScript/Angular.
• Develop modular microservices and containerized, cloud‑native services with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and support secure deployments in hybrid or disconnected environments (IL4‑IL6, AWS GovCloud, on‑prem).
• Build distributed systems and data integration frameworks using Kafka or Redis, and manage databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and graph databases.
• Integrate AI/ML outputs into runtime systems, handling serialization formats like JSON, Protobuf, GeoJSON, and KML.
• Write, test, and sustain software in classified environments, automating testing, monitoring, and observability.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• 6‑10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience with DevSecOps, Zero‑Trust, or ATO/RMF processes in DoD environments.
• Strong full‑stack or systems engineering background.
