AI Workflow Intern

About the role

MANTECH is seeking an AI Workflow Intern to support the US Marine Corps Systems Command office of the Chief Engineer. The intern creates new logical agentic workflows and improves existing ones so they deliver analytical capabilities for digital engineering, enterprise architecture and portfolio analysis. The position is hybrid, part-time, at 10 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks, and is open to candidates eligible for a Secret clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, develop and test agentic workflows, and fine-tune them.
• Structure and manipulate data to feed the workflows.
• Review, interpret and validate AI-generated outputs against the original requirements to confirm the workflow objectives are met.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance or eligibility for one; US citizenship is required.
• Full-time student pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field, graduating no earlier than December 2027.
• Familiarity with USMC systems, acquisition and engineering activities.
• Ability to work remotely as well as in Stafford, VA as required.

Required skills

• Experience building web-based user interfaces for AI agents.
• Prompt and persona development for AI agents and workflows.
• Coding and code integration, and test experience with C++, Python, JavaScript and FlowiseAI for agentic development.

Preferred: active DoD Secret clearance, experience in a team setting evaluating agentic design criteria and working iteratively in an agile fashion.

What we offer

• Projected compensation range of $54,000 to $89,600, depending on factors such as experience, skills, location and education.
