AI Safety Operator (Vehicle Data Collection)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated self‑starter to join our Full‑Self‑Driving (FSD) team as an AI Safety Operator. You will drive an engineering vehicle for extended periods while collecting audio and camera data to support testing and training of autonomous systems.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily ride‑hailing operations, including driver and rider management.
• Drive an engineering vehicle 6–8 hours per shift in a designated area for data collection.
• Start and stop recording devices and perform minor equipment/software debugging.
• Analyze and report on data quality collected during each shift.
• Provide feedback and suggest process improvements to optimize data collection.
• Write detailed daily drive reports documenting observations and issues.
• Ensure the vehicle’s safety and operational status before every shift.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving history.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills during data collection.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Tech‑savvy with experience managing data‑collection tools and troubleshooting on a PC.
• Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, day, afternoon, or night shifts.
• Ability to undergo drug testing in accordance with Tesla policy.
