AI Risk & Compliance Analyst (Contract)

About the role

Robert Half is looking for an experienced AI Risk & Compliance Analyst to join a leading enterprise in Midtown, New York. The role focuses on the intake, assessment, documentation and ongoing governance of AI use cases across the organization, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory and privacy requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the AI use‑case intake process, including triage, risk categorisation, stakeholder routing and approval tracking.
• Conduct AI risk and compliance reviews for new and existing use cases, covering data usage, privacy, security, third‑party risk, regulatory exposure and business impact.
• Evaluate AI‑enabled tools, platforms and vendors for risks such as confidential data handling, automated decision‑making, transparency, human oversight, bias and accuracy.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date AI use‑case inventory with ownership, vendor details, data types, risk ratings, required controls and review cadence.
• Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into intake questions, risk criteria, control requirements and formal decision documentation.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Security, Procurement, Technology and business teams to drive consistent AI governance.
• Support third‑party AI risk reviews, including vendor due diligence and governance considerations.
• Develop and refine governance artefacts such as intake forms, risk frameworks, checklists, templates and process documentation.
• Track and report AI governance metrics, including intake volume, review cycle time, risk trends and remediation status.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance, Privacy, Information Security, Technology Risk, Third‑Party Risk, Model Risk or Audit.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in AI governance, responsible AI, AI risk assessment, AI compliance or model risk management.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML risks, data governance, privacy regulations and emerging AI regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and document controls in a structured environment.
• Excellent communication, documentation and organisational skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, OECD guidelines or EU AI Act concepts.
• Experience with third‑party/vendor risk management related to AI solutions.
