AI-Native Software Engineer Advisor Senior

About the role

Elevance Health is hiring an AI-Native Software Engineer Advisor Senior to ship, evaluate, secure and support real systems. The role suits engineers with hands-on experience using AI to build and ship production-quality software, using AI agents and coding assistants across the SDLC. It is a hybrid role requiring three days in the office per week, and alternate locations may be considered for candidates living within commuting distance.

Key responsibilities

• Work on agentic AI engineering technology and use AI coding tools daily or weekly (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
• Model evaluation and quality measurement
• Maintain customer relationships, gather requirements, review designs and own the change request process
• Define application scope, write technical and functional specifications, perform design and code reviews
• Manage on-call support, system monitoring and the technical development environment
• Lead large projects, run JAD sessions, evaluate vendors and work on the Enterprise team

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• At least 7 years of multi-platform and/or business and technical applications experience
• Preferred: healthcare, payer, claims, clinical, HIPAA, PHI, regulated industry or enterprise security experience
• Production support experience preferred

Required skills

• Cloud-native development, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, automated testing and secure SDLC strongly preferred
• Building AI agents, tool/function calling, RAG, memory, model routing, evaluations, guardrails and observability strongly preferred
• Amazon Bedrock AgentCore (Runtime, Memory, Identity, Gateway, Code Interpreter, Browser Tool, Observability, Evaluations, Policy) strongly preferred
• Ability to review, test and harden AI-generated code
