AI Engineer III – Generative AI & Data Platforms

About the role

The Deloitte Human Capital team is seeking an AI Engineer III to design, build, and operate the data, feature, and retrieval layers that power AI and GenAI solutions for HR products. You will work closely with AI Data Engineers, Solutions Architects, product owners, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable, and observable AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship production pipelines and services for model training, real‑time inference, and LLM applications using Claude, GPT/Codex, Gemini and other large language models.
• Implement retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) patterns, including document ingestion, embeddings, vector/hybrid search, and telemetry.
• Deliver governed datasets and feature engineering pipelines, ensuring data quality, lineage, caching, and latency SLOs.
• Establish safety, privacy, and access controls (PII handling, prompt‑injection defenses, content filtering) in collaboration with security stakeholders.
• Maintain cost‑performance discipline through monitoring, query tuning, and token usage telemetry, and contribute to MLOps/LLMOps processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years building and delivering LLM/GenAI solutions with Claude, GPT/Codex, or Gemini.
• 4+ years implementing RAG, embeddings, and enterprise governance controls.
• 4+ years of modern data and AI engineering, including batch/streaming pipelines and real‑time inference services.
• 4+ years leading platform/integration engineering with REST, GraphQL, event‑driven, and micro‑service architectures.
• 4+ years of DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, IaC, Docker, Kubernetes, observability).
