AI Developer - Healthcare Agents

About the role

Massive Bio, an AI-powered precision medicine platform founded in 2015, connects cancer patients to clinical trials worldwide through its Agent Studio platform. It is looking for an AI Developer to build intelligent healthcare agents, designing, developing and deploying AI-powered microservices that process medical records, match patients to clinical trials and integrate with healthcare data standards in a modern, event-driven architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Build AI agents as Python microservices using the massivebio-agent-sdk
• Design multi-agent pipelines for medical data processing (OCR, clinical abstraction, terminology mapping, FHIR generation)
• Integrate LLMs (GPT-4o, GPT-5) for clinical text extraction, summarization and decision support
• Use vector databases (Qdrant) for semantic search, RAG and terminology resolution
• Build integrations with healthcare systems (Azure FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC)
• Develop dashboard features for agent management, monitoring and deployment
• Write clean, tested, production-ready code with error handling and observability
• Work with clinical teams to turn medical workflows into agent pipelines

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong written and spoken English
• Experience with LLMs (prompt engineering, function calling, RAG pipelines or fine-tuning)
• SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL preferred) and Git workflow
• Comfortable with Docker and containerized deployments; able to work independently

Required skills

• Python (async/await, Pydantic, FastAPI or similar)
• REST API design and implementation
• Nice to have: Azure cloud services, OpenTelemetry, TypeScript/React (Next.js), event-driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, clinical trials knowledge, CRM integrations
