Advocacy Internship – Fall 2026 National Security Policy

About the role

FDD Action is seeking full‑time and part‑time advocacy interns for the Fall 2026 term. Interns will work at the intersection of research, strategy, and legislative action, supporting real congressional projects that address national‑security challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the NatSec Roundup, the flagship weekly publication for congressional staffers.
• Support the advocacy team in producing Action Alerts and Policy Alerts for endorsed legislation.
• Help craft social‑media content that advances FDD Action’s policy priorities.
• Monitor and track important national‑security developments and breaking events.

Required profile

• Minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Relevant coursework in International Relations, Security Studies, History, Communications, Journalism, International Economics, Political Science, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• Strong research abilities and a genuine interest in policy and communications.
• Prior Hill experience is a plus but not required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Basic Excel skills.
