Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Per Diem (PRN)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) on a per‑diem (PRN) basis. The APRN will provide comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population, working both independently and collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments within scope of practice.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Facilitate patient transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide education and decision‑making support to patients, families, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Proficiency with office software and healthcare technology applications.
