Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Per Diem (Medicine, GIM)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide comprehensive medical care in Medicine and General Internal Medicine (GIM). The role involves independent patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete physical examinations and obtain detailed health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments within scope of practice.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
• Facilitate patient transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on health management and disease prevention.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• No prior experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong learning agility and ability to adapt to evolving clinical protocols.
