Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Per Diem

About the role

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) works on a per‑diem basis delivering comprehensive medical care to patients at Bascom Palmer. The incumbent operates independently and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality diagnosis, treatment, and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete physical examinations and document comprehensive health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments and advise patients on ongoing care.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability and monitor their effectiveness.
• Facilitate patient transitions across care settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, making referrals as needed.
• Provide education and decision‑making support to patients, families, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and university policies.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
