Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Pediatric Care

About the role

Join UAMS as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide comprehensive, compassionate, evidence‑based care for pediatric patients and their families, extending the services of UAMS physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and evaluate perinatal and medical histories, diagnostic test results, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments.
• Develop and modify short‑ and long‑term care plans, including pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments, and document outcomes.
• Provide ongoing patient and family education, interpret health assessment data, and coordinate follow‑up care.
• Accurately complete billing documentation with appropriate diagnostic and treatment codes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing and at least two years of nursing experience.
• Current Registered Nurse license and Arkansas APRN/CPN license.
• National certification in Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care.
• Current Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to safely operate nursing equipment such as scales, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG machines.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Acute Care certification.
• Pediatric Primary Care certification.
• Operation of EKG machines and other clinical equipment.
