Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Medicine, Cardiology

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join the Interventional Cardiology team. This full‑time position provides direct clinical care to cardiovascular patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and age‑appropriate assessments.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests, including EKGs, labs, and imaging.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments and adjust medications post‑procedure.
• Complete consent reviews, post‑procedure assessments, and discharge planning for cardiac catheterization, PCI, and structural heart procedures.
• Conduct daily rounds, develop care plans, and coordinate care with the interventional cardiology attending and multidisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, lifestyle habits, and post‑procedure care.
• Facilitate patient transitions between care settings and ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

Required profile

• Current APRN licensure with experience in cardiology, interventional cardiology, or cardiac ICU.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Cardiac catheterization and PCI procedural knowledge.
• Interpretation of EKGs, cardiac imaging, and laboratory results.
• Medication management and prescribing authority.
• Patient education and discharge planning for cardiovascular procedures.
