Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Medical Oncology (Weekend, Full‑Time)

About the role

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide comprehensive oncology care on weekends in a full‑time capacity. Working within the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the APRN will independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete physical examinations and detailed health histories for oncology patients.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments, including chemotherapy and supportive medications.
• Deliver infusion and chemotherapy services in the CTU and Oncology Care Clinic, including on‑call and cross‑coverage duties.
• Coordinate patient education, counseling, and transition of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Mentor staff, participate in hospital committees, and lead quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice credentials.
• Experience in medical oncology or related oncology nursing practice.
• Ability to work weekends and provide on‑call coverage.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with physicians, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams.
