About the role
The University of Miami seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specialized in medical oncology to deliver comprehensive patient care. The APRN will work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose, treat, and support patients throughout their cancer journey.
Key responsibilities
- Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
- Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
- Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
- Facilitate patient transitions across care settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide education and decision‑making tools to patients, families, and staff.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
- Valid State of Florida APRN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant oncology or hematology nursing experience.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
