Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – ICU (Per Diem)

About the role

We are seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join the UHealth ICU team at Jackson West. The role provides critical‑care expertise on a flexible schedule, supporting patient stability and transitions within a leading academic health system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Conduct age‑appropriate history and physical assessments independently.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests based on patient needs.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments.
• Implement interventions to maintain or regain physiologic stability.
• Assist with care delivery in compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust as needed.
• Facilitate patient transitions such as admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide educational tools to support staff, patient, and family decision‑making.
• Adhere to university and unit policies while safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida ARNP license.
• Acute Care certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant critical‑care nursing experience.
