Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – ICU (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Critical Care is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide comprehensive care to ICU patients at the Jackson West facility. The APRN works independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments, including medication management.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Facilitate patient transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide education and decision‑making support to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida ARNP license.
• Acute Care certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant critical‑care nursing experience.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make critical decisions under pressure.
