Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – ICU – Night Shift

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join the ICU team at Jackson Memorial Hospital – West on the night shift. This full‑time position provides autonomous patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health histories for diverse patient populations.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments, including medication management.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Facilitate patient transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide education and decision‑making support to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida ARNP license with Acute Care certification.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant clinical experience.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
