About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in anesthesiology to deliver comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population. The role involves independent patient examinations, collaborative practice with other health‑care professionals, and ensuring safe, evidence‑based treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive medical care to diverse patient populations, including independent examinations and autonomous collaboration with health‑care professionals.
• Perform age‑appropriate histories, physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments and monitor patient response.
• Facilitate patient transitions such as admission, transfer, and discharge while ensuring compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, make referrals, and provide education to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant nursing field.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• Minimum two years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize work under pressure, and communicate effectively in oral and written form.

Required skills

• Prescribing medications and non‑pharmacologic therapies.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
