Advanced Practice Provider – Pre-Admission Testing

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join the UPAC team at the Lennar Foundation Medical Center. In this role you will provide comprehensive patient care, conduct examinations, and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on age‑appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments in accordance with state regulations.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Facilitate patient transitions across care settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make appropriate referrals.
• Provide education and decision‑making support to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty.
• Valid State of Florida APRN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
